Guacamole

Guacamole the simple, easy classic Mexican dip is healthy due to its richness and fresh in its preparation. The ingredients are popularly available in any store and enjoy it well as spread or a dip, especially widely enjoyed with tortilla chips.

Ingredients

Avocado (ripe) 1

Red onion. 1/2

Tomato. 1/2

Cilantro Handful

Freshly squeezed lemon. 2 tsp

Jalapeños chopped 1/4 tsp

Fresh lemon juice. 1/2 tsp

Black pepper mill in to taste

Salt to taste

Preparation

Clean the avocado and slice it into two halves lengthwise. Gently scoop out the pulp, using a spoon. Now mash the pulp either smooth or chunky. Finely dice the red onion, tomato, jalapeño and cilantro ( coriander leaves). Fold these fresh veggies to the mashed avocado and combine well. Season with the salt and pepper and lastly squeeze in, the juice of fresh lemon. Enjoy this nutrient rich healthy dish.

Notes

  • The avocado dip is freshly prepared and served, as the avocado gets oxidized very fast and so it changes the colour.
  • If the store bought avocado is not ripe enough (gently check giving a press), let it stay for two three days before making guacamole.
  • Minced/crushed garlic is an option for those who love the taste of garlic.
