Special Pachadi (Kiwi)

Every Mom is unique and so are her dishes….

My recipes attributed to my Mom who regarded cooking as an art….. she enjoyed making each dish and made us all enjoy…

Following her trails I try to give my touch…..

Pachadi is a side dish made with yoghurt, fresh coconut along with some spices and the choice of the vegetable. This caters to one among many of the dishes prepared for the Onam-sadhya ( Onam meal, as we Keralites call it fondly). As many of you already know, this dish can be prepared with many vegetables like, beetroot, cucumber, pineapple, ladiesfinger, even coriander leaves and the list goes on…. Here I mention a unique veggie and it is Kiwi. Kiwi is actually a fruit and if not fully ripe, the taste is to the sour side than to the sweetness.

The Kiwis that are sour in taste is good for this dish. This, easy to prepare recipe, actually accidentally popped up, when my store bought Kiwis weren’t turning sweet. So next time if you have bought sour kiwis then try 👍 this out!!!

Add in, the coconut paste ( finely ground second set of ingredients) and let the excess water dry off on low flame.

Take yoghurt in a shallow serving dish and fold in, the prepared Kiwi coconut gravy, incorporating well. Enjoy 😋 the dish with boiled rice.
